About us
In
1992, the LCBS Lake Constance Business School was founded at Schloss
Langenrain on the shores of Lake Constance as an institute for scientific
continuing education by
Prof. Dr. Bernd Richter, Head of the Business Administration Department
and Scientific Director of the Continuing Education Department at Constance
University of Applied Sciences,
Dr. Tobias Engelsing, Press Relations Officer and Director of Public
Relations of Constance University of Applied Sciences, and
Roland Luxemburger M.A., MBA, Director of the university management
policy unit.
The LCBS was founded in accordance with the general basic conditions
in force for the organisation and implementation of post-graduate scientific
continuing education at institutions of higher education upon agreement
with the university management and the Ministry of Science of Baden-Württemberg.
The LCBS is linked to Constance University of Applied Sciences by a co-operation
agreement. This agreement ensures that the University is entrusted with
the sovereign duties, i.e. developing curricula, administering examinations,
quality assurance and the conferral of certificates and degrees, while
it is incumbent upon the LCBS to carry out the marketing, implementation
and financial handling of the continuing education programmes on offer.
The services performed by Constance University of Applied Sciences in
the field of continuing education are refunded by the LCBS.
In 2001 the TAK Technische Akademie Konstanz gGmbH (Graduate School
of Engineering), which was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of
Constance University of Applied Sciences became a shareholder of LCBS,
following an increase in capital.
In 2006 LCBS Lake Constance Business School and TAK moved from
Schloss Langenrain on the Bodanrück Ridge to the Villa Rheinburg
in Constance where Constance University of Applied Sciences shall continue
its successful work in the field of post-graduate scientific continuing
education in future. |
